Transitioning Toddler Sleeping Tips

Transitioning our littles out of cribs and into big boy/big girl beds can be challenging, but luckily, I found a few small tricks & products that helped ease the move and got our little to fall in love with his new sleeping quarters

An aesthetically pleasing NEW bed -

You can do a race car, Barbie bed, or even something more simple like ours (Lawson’s Paw Paw made this one custom for us). You’re just shooting for something they would be excited about sleeping in and leaving their crib for — *DOUBLE BONUS* and a money saving hack is using a dual-sided mattress that can transition from crib to toddler bed like this:

Make it comfy & protected against accidents -

Create barriers to prevent falls -

If your new Toddler bed doesn’t come back with railings or side boards and you would like to help prevent your toddler from falling out in the middle of the night (yes, please!) I suggest using these awesome pillow bumpers that create miniature walls to help keep them tucked in nice and cozy

Added safety measures -

Once you have your little gems all tucked in, what are you going to use to assure they stay in their big boy/big girl bed and not go roaming the house in the middle of the night or for a stroll around the neighborhood? I’ll tell you. These super cheap toddler-proof door knob covers! Come in a pack of 4 and worked like a charm to keep our curious little 2 and half year old sequestered.

Relax them & mask noise -

Ok ok, we now have them safely secured in their room. Now, let’s be cool parents and give them some tunes and a nice little show to send them off to sleep. And by that I mean, a sound machine + projector combo. It will not only help mask outside noises with its 5 sound options, but it also comes with 3 different images that can projected on the wall to provide entertainment and/or a fun night light to help keep fear of the dark at bay. Here’s the updated version of the one we use:

That's all for now, friends! Happy sleeping to you & your toddler! :)
